Winners!!! Weehuggers cloth diaper review and giveaway

I received our first weehugger cloth diaper from my friend Sharni for my youngest son Ry. It was adorable the groovy guitar print might just be my favorite but I'm partial because my husband plays the guitar and I have two boys. Finding diapers that fit Ry's chicken legs can be a complicated thing sometimes because he's just small at 14ish pounds he's just not a chunky boy like his daddy. Me on the other hand ya whole different story. Anyways back to the weehuggers. After recieving it of course I had to go and read other reviews and see how it faired. Lots of great reviews but some not so great and when I see not so great reviews I like to bust them or prove them right depending on how it goes with the testing. First let me tell you the bad reviews they claimed that the diaper wicked or leaked. I tried so hard to get this diaper to leak it took putting just a doubler in the diaper so he peed directly onto the pul (laminate fabric) before I could get a leak and even at that he had that diaper on with just the doubler for over three hours and he's a heavy wetter. The doubler was dripping wet and we had a leak on the outside. I have a large stash of gflappers from the Nappy Shoppe so that's what we use in most of our diapers. The all bamboo ones are my favorite by a landslide. I put one of those in the weehugger diaper and its a success. I haven't gotten that to leak for my youngest son at 10mo or my oldest son at 2.5yo. Oh and yes I am now addicted to weehuggers because they are the cutest diaper I have ever seen. We have three wee huggers for my oldest son and three for my youngest. They each have one with owls, whales and guitars on them. We have a mix of velcro/aplix and snaps. Normally I'm not a fan of velcro unless its for an infant. Velcro can make diaper chains in the wash and that just is a little frustrating and wears the velcro out sooner. The weehuggers laundry tabs are the first to have actually held the velcro down. I've never had a weehugger participate in a diaper chain. The velcro is so strong probably the strongest one I've ever had that stays strong. Some other brands start strong and then roll right up and need to be replaced almost immediately. My preference is snaps though because with snaps more of the adorable fabric shows. The gussets on the weehuggers are awesome as well. My youngest is cutting a few teeth right now and has that nasty teething poop. Its never escaped a wee hugger it even went up his back once and nothing escaped. So weehuggers can withstand my super peeing boys and their pooplosions and they're cute. If you've used a weehugger and you've found that it is wicking please consider a different insert. Your child may be a super soaker or you may need to change more frequently. Remember all inserts aren't created equally and an all bamboo gflapper may just be your best bet. Check out weehuggers cloth diapers at the Nappy Shoppe here or at their site here.
